Mental Health and Psycho-Oncology
Additional presentations may cover fear of recurrence, fertility-related distress, sexual concerns, body image, insomnia, and cognitive changes that persist after treatment. Researchers will discuss validated screening tools, routine distress monitoring, and clear referral thresholds within oncology clinics. Sessions may explore cognitive behavioural, acceptance-based, and mindfulness-based therapies, group programmes, and peer navigation delivered by trained survivors. Attention will be given to medication choices, interactions with endocrine therapy, and the management of pre-existing psychiatric illness during cancer care. Stigma, cultural beliefs, and the psychological needs of partners, children, and caregivers will be considered. Digital mental-health tools, crisis pathways, and suicide-risk assessment will also be addressed. Culturally adapted and language-appropriate support will be encouraged.
