Climate, Environment and Women's Health

Further sessions may explore environmental contributions to breast and gynaecological cancers, including early-life exposure windows, ionising radiation, and long-term occupational cohort studies. Presentations will examine climate-sensitive maternal and newborn outcomes, extreme weather events, displacement, and the interruption of screening and treatment during emergencies. Researchers will discuss green healthcare, low-carbon clinical pathways, and the environmental footprint of imaging, surgery, and medicines. Attention will be given to personal care products, water contamination, and household chemical safety, along with biomonitoring and exposure-assessment methods. Community-led advocacy, environmental justice, and the disproportionate burden carried by low-income and rural women will be considered. Training clinicians in environmental history-taking and risk communication will be emphasised. Multisectoral partnerships for healthier, more sustainable environments will be encouraged.
